Almost exactly six years after the launch of its uEye industrial camera series, machine vision specialist IDS Imaging Development Systems recently sold its 100,000th camera. The 5 Megapixel Gigabit Ethernet camera, decked out in golden housing in honor of the occasion, went to Robert Bosch GmbH in Germany.

Torsten Wiesinger, sales and marketing director at IDS, presented the camera to Ulrich Bäumler, industrial image processing manager of the Assembly Systems and Special Machinery business unit at Bosch in Stuttgart. The automotive supplier uses the cameras of the uEye series primarily for quality assurance.

All uEye cameras are supported by the same software package designed for ease-of-use. The modular design reduces development time and cost even for custom-made models and the concept has enjoyed widespread acceptance.
