The KEYENCE CV-3000 Vision System detects stains and defects on interior surfaces of cups moving at high-speed on production lines. A unique Real-Time Subtraction Filter allows the user to simply specify the inspection area. No position correction, masking or complicated settings are required. Interior seams and illumination variations that cause problems for conventional systems do not affect the CV-3000. Stains and defects are displayed during setup and operation using color intensities that differentiate them from the background.

AIA Hosts Successful International Conference for Vision Guided Robotics
NOVI, MI - The International Conference for Vision Guided Robotics (ICVGR) brought attendees from around the world to Novi, MI, September 30 to October 2, 2008. Bob Rochelle of Kawasaki Robotics USA Inc. opened the conference with a talk on the basics on robotics, followed by David Dechow of Aptura Machine Vision Solutions, who presented sessions on the basics of machine vision and successfully integrating vision guided robotics. Rochelle began by explaining that "robota" is a Czech word for "forced labor" or "serf," and then described basic robot technology and robot-based systems.
