It is that time of the year when people are hearing about iPhone rumors. According to reports, Apple is working on three different iPhone models for 2015. These additions include the so-called extensions of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 plus, and surprisingly, the slightly smaller iPhone 6c, which is supposed to be the upgrade of their iPhone 5c.
According to speculations, the purpose of this 4.7-inch device is to bring all of the features of its bigger 5.5-inch counterparts into smaller screens, so that users finally have a choice of having all that application into a device that fits perfectly in their hands.
The question is not “why would Apple release the iPhone 6c?”; the question is “why wouldn’t they?”
iPhone 6 in a smaller case?
If the rumors are true, then the iPhone 6c has a plastic rear shell. Although it still shares certain similarities with iPhone 5c, the iPhone 6c case poses new features that definitely set it apart from its older counterpart.
Based on the leaked photos, the supposed iPhone 6c has an oval camera flash, instead of the iPhone 5c’s round flash, and two rows of speakers on the bottom, instead of just one.
One of Apple’s latest advents is the “digital camera splitter”, which turns pictures clearer and sharper. They are already featured in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, and all assumptions point to the possibility of the iPhone 6c having it as well.
Like the iPhone 5c, it is also believed to be “unapologetically, beautifully plastic”, sporting a tough polycarbonate finish. But reports reveal that it will feature some of the best functions found on the iPhone 6. Using an A8 chip, NFC and Touch ID support, the iPhone 6c is said to deliver more efficient iOS performance and better advanced health tracking functions and Apple Pay support.
Resolving Issues with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
A brand’s strength can also be its biggest downfall. Although some Samsung users have boarded the Apple train due to the enlargement of their iPhones, most iPhone users, who have been used to the 4-inch displays, are still reluctant to upgrade their phones for the same reason.
The rumors about the three iPhone additions began last year, followed by a report from Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company in December saying that the smaller device can possibly be an iPhone 6S mini. This pleased all users who have been demanding Apple to bring back, or at least incorporate, its old size into its newest innovations.
